My mission is to provide a safe and positive environment that produces life-long learners, independent thinkers, and productive citizens in an ever-changing world.
I am in my twenty-first year of teaching in Milford, NH. I love my job and take pride in shaping our future. I wasn't always a teacher. My first love was science. I graduated from the University of Lowell in December of 1987 with a Bachelor's degree in Biology. My first "adult job" was a joint venture between the Lawrence School Department and The Boston Museum of Science as a traveling science specialist. I taught children in Grades K-6 various science curricula from plants through friction. In July of 1989, I was honored to work for Boston University School of Medicine in a clinical and research genetics laboratory with colleagues from all over the world. Life threw my family a curve ball in April of 1993. We transferred up to Wilton, New Hampshire for my husband's work where I ran an in-home daycare for seven years. When my youngest was eight months old, I returned to school to pursue my Master's Degree in Elementary Education from Rivier College. I've been teaching ever since!!
It excites me to see "the light come on" when students learn! I treat each of my students the same way I expect my own children to be treated. In our classroom we have high expectations and a "family type" atmosphere...with lots of smiles! I feel very lucky to be a part of your child's life every day. My hope is that when they look back to 3rd grade they will remember a teacher who taught them everything possible academically, created a zest for learning that never stopped, sparked an interest in science and loved them unconditionally. :)
I am very proud of my family. I have been married to my husband, Eric, for 34 years and we have three beautiful children. Meghan is a graduate of the University of New Hampshire in Durham with a degree in communication disorders. She now lives in Colorado where she works as a lead teacher in an adult transition program in the Boulder School District. Emily graduated from a Physician Assistant graduate program at Northeastern University in Boston and lives in Newton, Massachusetts where she works as a PA in mental health. Our youngest, Sarah, is a Registered Nurse and is working as a traveling nurse at a psychiatric hospital in North Carolina. Although difficult now, we enjoy spending time together whenever we can. We love going to sporting events, traveling to Maine, Alaska, NC and Colorado, enjoying nature and hanging out at home with our family and friends!! Life is very busy, but very good!!! :) Some family pictures are below!
