Homework:
Students will receive a homework packet on Fridays and the whole packet will be due the following Friday. The packet will usually include some math and reading review. The students will also have a separate fluency piece each night. The students earn a raffle ticket for each item passed in on time. The amount of homework in grade three is thirty minutes per night. Some children may take longer to accomplish the task than others. Long term homework assignments/projects are assigned occasionally and given longer amounts of time to complete. In addition to completing the homework task(s), I encourage all students in my classroom to read on a daily basis at home. Whether students are reading independently, you are reading to them or they are reading to you, reading for at least 15 minutes everyday will help your child develop fluency and comprehension skills. It is also a special time that you and your child can spend relaxing together.
